Combining multiple back-ends in a mobile environment where off-line app functionality is required, presents challenging transactional issues. Reading, writing, amending and deleting data following valid business rules means you are faced with complex syncing structures. Akula offers built-in synchronization tools in its SDK’s that allow even the most complex structures to be handled the way you want it: tidy and consistent.

The syncing mechanism are dealt with server-side by custom configuration of the Akula server through built-in filters and routings mechanisms. Because business logic isn’t embedded inside the business app’s code but is hosted on the Akula server, back-ends stay tidy and consistent. Other benefits are that the Akula-housed business logic can be re-used for other apps, and alterations made on the back-end side do not automatically mean that the app needs to be adapted (causing time, budget and functionality issues), because tweaking the Akula server suffices.
